Making Spaceships Fly using Timeline

Objective: Get a Spaceship fly out and come back to land

Lets get started by pulling in a Spaceship from Filebase.

With Filebase open, we can search for Space and all space related items will come up.

The ship I’ll be using was found on the 14 pg.

Click download, if prompted for login you will need to login first and than download and import.

Find the the model under the newly created GameDevHQ folder in the Project window. After finding pull the FBX model into the scene.

Now to start animating. Open up Timeline by going to Window → Sequencing → Timeline.

Next Create an Empty object and name it Director. With that selected, in the Timeline window, click Create.

Drag in the Object and select Animation track.

With Record button selected, we can start making our Animations.

Right click the animation track and Convert To Clip Track.

Repeat this as many times as needed to make multiple different animations that come together.

You can change the name by selecting the Track and in the inspector Change it at the top.

That is how I got our Spaceship to fly off and release they forgot their food and came back.
