2D Cameras Using Virtual Cameras
Objective: Explain how to set up a camera for 2D.
Cinemachine has made setting up a camera for 2D easier. We start by going to Cinemachine → 2D Camera.
It’ll create a Virtual Camera into the Hierarchy. We can just set the LookAt and Follow to the Target.
The Camera is set up as a Framing Transposer for us.
To make it have the 2D look, go into the Main Camera and set the Projection to Orthographic.
And just like that our camera is ready to be a 2D game.
With this and some extentions added one could make an interesting transitions to the end of the screen or have it move and if the player touches the edge cause damage. Just many things to think of.
